It is now possible to use VoLTE calling on some networks with Google’s newest patch for Pixel smartphones running Android 12. Last week, Android 13’s beta version was released for eligible devices, and this is very much like it. However, since this Monday was a national holiday in the United States, the update is a few days later than normal.
VoLTE has been added to the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro in APAC (Asia and Pacific), as well as EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa), networks as part of this upgrade. To ensure that older devices aren’t left without internet service once the 2G and 3G networks are shut down, Google sent an upgrade to its Pixel 3 and 3XL last week.
The OTA update will begin rolling out today to Pixel 4 and newer smartphones running Android 12 on Google’s cloud platform. Phased rollouts over the following week are expected. When your device is ready for the update, you will get a message, but you can also check for it in Settings > System > System updates.
